"The sending of the memorandum on the extension of the suspension of Amendment 907 to the Freedom Support Act by the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, along with a personal note and kind words, as a commemorative gift to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, has an important political and diplomatic significance.

This event should not be viewed solely as a protocol gesture. This is an expression of high political appreciation for the international reputation of the Azerbaijani state and the consistent, pragmatic and result-oriented foreign policy of President Ilham Aliyev. The continuation of the position on Amendment 907, which has been perceived as a symbol of unfair treatment in Azerbaijani society for many years, is an indicator of the wider international acceptance of the rightful position of the Azerbaijani state,"said David Seliverstov, a human rights activist and representative of the Global Solidarity Council for Azerbaijan, as reported by Newscenter.az

He said that under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan has created new realities in the region and has brought the agenda of peace, security, cooperation and mutual trust to the forefront in the post-war period:

"Today, Azerbaijan is not only a state defending its national interests, but also an important political center responsible for stability, dialogue and future cooperation in the South Caucasus.

The relations formed with Donald Trump and the new political dialogue emerging within the framework of the Peace Council can also be considered an important component of this process. Peace is not just an agreement written in documents, but a living process that manifests itself in the political will of leaders, in restoring trust between peoples and in defending fair positions on international platforms.
David Seliverstov further said:

"As the Global Solidarity Council, we directly support the mission of the Peace Council. We believe that the promotion and protection of peace initiatives is of particular importance against the backdrop of growing conflicts, political tensions and humanitarian crises in the world.
